the island of Borneo.
Bandar Seri Begawan is the Capital of Brunei Darussalam. A
modern city with most amenities and a well-educated
population that is accustomed to high standards of living
and international travel. But - because of the distribution
of wealth form it's oil and gas resources - is also able to
preserve many traditional lifestyles, such as the water
village, and the Borneo forests and wildlife.
Bandar Seri Begawan is
the embarkation point for Brunei's Temburong National Park;
the best protected rainforest on the island of Borneo. And
it's possible to take an early morning or late evening boat
ride to see Borneo's unique Proboscis Monkeys - along with
other wildlife - just along from the Sultan's Palace.
Along with shopping and
dining out - popular distractions for Bruneians -

Operated by Brunei Shell's staff recreation club but
Located beside the South China Sea in the midst of
the Brunei Shell staff accommodation area. It has
some unique golf challenges!
Golf Club - Labuan Island
Labuan is reached by a 1 hour ferry ride from
Brunei's Serasa Ferry Terminal. The site of the
Commonwealth War Graves from WWII, Labuan also has a
range of other attractions and shopping to keep the
non-golfers interested. An overnight stay here gives
the opportunity to enjoy Labuan's renowned seafood
and the busy nightlife.
About one hour's
drive south of the Panaga Club course in Seria (Brunei), is
the bustling Malaysian town of Miri. Miri has a similar
population as the whole of Brunei, and is the service hub
for the region's oil and gas, palm-oil and timber
industries. It's also the embarkation point for tours to
Mulu Caves, Niah Caves, and the traditional tribal
communities of Sarawak.
Miri comes alive on
Friday and Saturday nights with a wide variety of dining
options, clubs and discos. A fun and relaxing location to
conclude your golf vacation in NW Borneo.
Miri Golf Club
- Miri (Sarawak)
This second golf club in Miri is actually the first
golf course on Borneo. Originally developed as part
of the oil and gas staff recreation facilities, the
course is open to other members, and the public. In
tune with its historical roots, this course is not
designed for buggies, but trollies can be rented to
carry club sets. Laid out on a sand spit beside the
Miri estuary, with the South China Sea on the other
Eastwood Valley Golf
and Country Club - Miri (Sarawak)
Eastwood Valley is a popular and visually attractive course which - in
addition to the locals - enjoys regular use by
Brunei golfers. Resort style - and spar -
hotels in MIri give a comfortable base for golfers
and non-golfers to enjoy their visit.
