Our longhouse accommodation gives guests the experience of
living in this traditional style of accommodation. Some
longhouses in Temburong are very simple in construction
materials and style, while others are built from mostly
modern materials. But the key elements of community oriented
living are still practiced.
Each
longhouse has a long covered space, off which the individual
family "homes" are located. Guests staying in the longhouse
are linked to a particular family host, but will sleep in
the large open area. We provide mattresses and
sleeping bags if required.
When
staying at the longhouse, be prepared to be immersed in the
lifestyle. Children playing in the open area and crying at
night, roosters announcing the (barely discernable) approach
of sunrise, pre-dawn departures to fishing or the paddy
fields.
Price: Bn$25per night
per adult. Includes mattress and sleeping bag.
Children (under 12) Bn$15 each per night, including mattress and
sleeping bag.
Transfers from Bangar (water taxi jetty) to longhouse and return to Bangar
(water taxi jetty) are
Bn$12 per person (minimum 2 people).
Breakfast is not included. Dinner and breakfast can
be arranged for Bn$12 each (minimum 2 people). Must be pre-booked.
